EU insolvency advice: assessing providers

Clear responsibilities and substantiated statements help you choose. A useful first consultation explains opportunities, limits and costs.

Contracting parties and qualifications

Ask who provides advice, legal representation and procedural services. Company registration, professional authorisation and TCSP registration are different things. A partner’s registration does not automatically establish every participating company’s authority.

Question outcome promises

Blanket guarantees of discharge, jurisdiction or a fixed total timeline cannot replace case assessment. Ask about excluded debts, genuine centre of interests and the effects on income and assets. A provider should also explain when a proposed route is unsuitable.

Understand documents and costs

A clear written scope and transparent additional costs support a better decision. Keep contractual documents and check which personal data are needed for which purpose. Reviews supplement this assessment but do not replace it.
